A passport is the best form of ID
It's a good idea to get a passport if you're planning to travel to Mexico, whether or not it is an official requirement. A passport is the best form of international identification and having one may help you avoid hassles.
The blue piece of paper you are given when you enter the country is your Tourist Card, and it's very important that you don't lose it. You can get another, but the process is time consuming. Keep it in a safe place until you leave, along with your passport and other documentation, preferably a hotel security box. |
